The product can be discussed as available for U.S. shipping, which means the calculator should start with the buyer's actual delivery city rather than forcing a Bay Area or California-only assumption.
What changes by state
Freight route, crane access, tax, foundation engineering, utility connection, local zoning, state program acceptance, inspections, and installer availability can all change outside California.
Approval boundary
California approval documents are useful product proof, but outside California the project team must confirm the local and state approval path before treating the unit as permit-ready.

Use the calculator as a national planning worksheet: keep the $170/sf base unit separate, add freight and setting, then replace local approval and site-work allowances with jurisdiction-specific quotes.
